Knowing your dwarf hamster is a great thing to help you have a bond with your tiny fury friend. These little ones are fun to watch and play with, without a lot of work. Hamsters like being clean so they do require a little work on the up keep of their cages. A small job to keep your pet healthy is to provide a nutritional diet.

Dwarf hamsters also require a lot of exercise. But this will not require a lot on you if you provide enough of accessories for them. You will maintain a healthy and happy hamster. Pet hamsters will be possessive with their property. Try not to rearrange items like their water and food bowls, potty area, and nesting area. The toys and tubes you can move around to keep them from being bored.

Do not get discouraged if you get nipped when you first bring home your pet. This will take some time, training and patience. When a dwarf hamster is annoyed with you their ears will be curled and laid back. If you disturb them while their sleeping you will usually see this because they are nocturnal pets. Make sure you let your hamster get fully awake before you handle your hamster.

You need to have a lot of room for them to roam even though they are small. So provide them with a good size cage or even a dual cage with tunnels to go back and forth in. Your hamster could die from being bored. Hamsters are fast and can run for miles a day in their natural habitat. Place your pet in a ball or hamster mobile if you take your pet out of their cage. But do not put them around steps or where anyone can kick it by accident. Your hamster may get seriously hurt or even death can occur.

Dwarf hamsters are cute, fury and fun to have as a pet for you and your family. Remember that they are fragile and tiny. Hamsters will make a good first pet for your family to enjoy.  Make sure you do research on your tiny pet to give them the best care you can. Research information by getting books or look on the internet. Find information on cages and location, toys, nutrition, illnesses, when to see a vet, choosing a healthy hamster, training, bedding, cage accessories, types of dwarf hamsters and much more.
